Lianhua International Rural Community is located in Lianhua Town, Qujiang District, Quzhou City, covering Lianhua Market Town, Xishanxia Village, Wutan Village, Jianfeng Village and Lianhua Provincial Modern Agricultural Park. The planning unit is the entire Lianhua Town, covering an area of 73.2 km2 and a residential population of approximately 35,000. The implementation unit covers an area of 16.8 km2 and has a residential population of approx. 7,818 people. Among them, the core area is "one park, one creek and three villages" covering an area of about 8 km2 - the three administrative villages of Jianfeng, Wutan and Xishanxia, Lianhua Modern Agricultural Park and Zhixi Creek.
In the first half of 2019, Lianhua Community began planning for rural future community construction, and was included in the "Pilots of SUC UN Guidelines for Sustainable Communities" in October 2019. At the beginning of 2020, in accordance with the "double pilots, double certification" model, the "double pilots" creation of Rural Future Community and International Rural Future Community was officially launched. With the theme of "Lianhua: My Pastoral Home", it adheres to "human as center, ecological orientation and digitalization", focuses on "people come, get employed, and make money" for "original people, returnees and newcomers", promotes "creating scenarios, creating neighborhoods and creating industries", presents "hometown flavor, local flavor and nostalgia", and attaches greater importance to the improvement in the quality of life of rural future community residents. With the support of digital applications, integrating elements such as ancient villages, farming, cultural creativity, health care, and research learning, and following the overall arrangement of strengthening the foundation in one year, raising the level in two years, and becoming a community in three years, more effort has been put into the creation of an integrated system focusing on the innovation of nine major scenarios, including future culture, ecology, architecture, service, transportation, industry, digitalization, governance and spirit to explore historical culture, farming culture and folk culture, condense the local flavor, showcase the hometown flavor, arouse nostalgia, promote the qualitative transformation from beautiful village into beautiful community, the evolution from traditional agriculture into modern agriculture and the shift from rural residents into community residents, and provide the whole province with an operable, replicable and promotable model of rural future community.
In more than two years, the Community has explored a new model of rural community construction that "merges villages to co-live slowly, turns beauty into industry, introduces industry to community groups, and promotes development via science and technology"; a number of future scenarios such as shared canteen and rural living room have been built; the coordinated development of production, life and ecology and the integrated development of industry, village, people and culture have been achieved. At the end of 2020, the agricultural output value was CNY 178.58 million; the per capita income of community residents was CNY 30,099; the net population inflow was more than 980 people; the Community attracted 300,000 tourists, becoming a new example of rural revitalization and sustainable development of rural communities.
