Xikou International Rural Future Community is located at the center of Xikou Town, with a planning unit of approximately 2.3 km2 and an implementation unit of 0.32 km2. It extends to Xikou Old Street in the east, Ximaoxian in the west, Xikou Middle School in the south, and Baima Road in the north. Xikou Town has profound historical and cultural heritage, rich ecological resources, and relatively complete supporting facilities. It has initially formed a visually fresh new rural image and is a model town for small town governance in Zhejiang Province. Xikou International Rural Future Community is also the first market town-type rural future community in the country.
Based on the theme positioning of "Xikou Commune, Happy Home", with human as center, ecological orientation, digitalization and integration as the value coordinates, "net population inflow + added value of the integration of three industries" as the creation indicator, and local residents, returning talents and makers as the core group, based on the smart technology support and the institutional support of "credit + governance", Xikou International Rural Future Community innovatively builds a "4+5" scenario system, including four distinctive scenarios (nostalgia, hometown, sharing and entrepreneurship), and five basic scenarios (rural image, pastoral style, health, education and transportation), explores high-quality ideal living models in the future, creates a future community benchmark across the province and even the country with mountains, rivers and nostalgia, and forms an integration model of rural future community with “the integration of industry and rural area, nostalgia culture, co-governance and sharing, credit governance and institutional innovation” that can be replicated and promoted.
